About Kathy
Kathy has been a broadcaster and voice-over artist for more than 15 years. As well as reading news on the flagship Today programme on BBC Radio 4, she is a regular voice on Radio 3, 4 Extra and World Service. For Radio 4 she has also presented Pick Of The Week and a documentary about anosmia (having no sense of smell) called The Neglected Sense.
Kathy's warm voice and versatility lends itself to any project - other recent work includes narrating the BBC2 series Greatest Gardens, a nationwide radio campaign for the fostering organisation The Bridge and Voice of God for the NHBC Pride in the Job Awards.
Kathy also makes regular guest appearances on The News Quiz and the BBC NI sketch show A Perforated Ulster. She was the Posh Radio 4 Lady (PR4L) for 6 years on Radio 1. She narrates concerts for the Kensington Chamber Orchestra in London and is the voice 'Kathy' on TomTom sat-navs.
She has written a book A Brief History of Tim and a musical about Radio 4 called But First This, with music by Desmond O'Connor.
